Meet our KEEN Young Professionals Board Members

 

   

Helen Demse, President


Helen has been involved with KEEN since fall 2015 as the Volunteer Marketing and Social Media Coordinator. She enjoys creating graphics for KEEN media, photographing kids during events, and managing the Facebook and Instagram for KEEN St. Louis. Helen works as an occupational therapist in a hospital-based outpatient clinic with adult patients for rehabilitation after strokes, traumatic brain injuries, cancer diagnoses, and orthopedic injuries. She is also currently working towards her Masters in Business Administration at Webster University in a healthcare cohort. Helen started a photography business, HelenDemsePhotography, which provides an outlet for her interest in graphic design & creative photography. KEEN has been the perfect fit for Helen to integrate her passions and work with the team to serve deserving kids in the community. 

    
   

Chris Jacobs, Liason Officer


As a financial advisor, Chris works hand in hand with clients to create a personalized financial plan. He understands that every person's situation is different and requires a unique solution. Chris has always been a basketball fanatic and is currently the Varsity Assistant coach at Barat Academy. Chris has recently used basketball for a philanthropic purpose by assisting in the founding of the KEEN basketball program. Chris currently holds the position of Liason Officer to provide communication between the KEEN Executive Board and the Young Professionals Board. 

 

   

Sarah Metzler, Vice President of Communication
 

Sarah joined the KYP Board in the fall of 2016. As the Vice President of Communications, Sarah coordinates the social media and event marketing for KYP. As a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism with an emphasis in advertising, Sarah has been working in various marketing capacities in the commercial real estate industry for 14 years. She currently works for Balke Brown Transwestern as the marketing coordinator for retail and residential properties. Sarah owns a freelance marketing business and has worked for non-profits such as The Crime Victim Advocacy Center. She is excited to be a part of the KYP team and witness the impact if will have on the lives of KEEN kids. 

     
   

 

Raul Adams, Vice President of Membership Affairs

 

Raul is the Community Manager of Pointe 400 Luxury Apartments specializing in exceptional customer service, pitching Pointe 400 as the pinnacle of modern community in the St. Louis area. Raul has over 10 years of experience in property management and over 12 years in Hotel Management/Hospitality, serving hotels nationwide. A native of Panama, Raul's opportunities of international travel have exposed him to multiple cultures and broadened his perspective on serving people no matter where they are from. His travels have taken him to Asia, North America, South America, and Central America. He brings worldwide flavor to everything he does creating vibrant relationships with everyone he comes in contact with. Raul first became familiar with KEEN when his son joined one of the multiple sports programs offered to children with special needs. KEEN is very close to his heart for this reason, and he joined the KYP Board in fall 2016. 

     
   

Kelly Anderson, Vice President of Finance

 

Kelly began volunteering with KEEN in Spring 2012 after learning about the organization through Alpha Phi Omega at St. Louis University. She quickly fell in love with the organization and continues to volunteer. As a lifelong swimmer, Kelly particularly enjoys working with the athletes in the KEEN Swim program. She is also a member of the KEEN St. Louis coaches committee. Kelly is a recent graduate of the John Cook School of Business at St. Louis University receiving her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology Management. She currently works as a consultant at Protiviti in Brentwood. 

 

   

Kristen Peters Kremer, Secretary
 

Kristen began her work with KEEN St. Louis as a volunteer in spring, 2008. She took over as KEEN's Program Coordinator in May, 2009. Her invaluable role consists of volunteer recruitment, outreach, and awareness initiatives, scheduling programs, and organizing volunteers and participants for KEEN sports, KEEN swim, and KEEN sings. In addition to KEEN, Kristen has worked with and volunteered for a variety of non-profit organizations throughout St. Louis including Family Resource Center, St. Louis Arc, LifeBridge Partnership, and CASA. A St. Louis native, Kristen has both her masters and bachelors degrees from Saint Louis University and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree from SLU's School of Social Work. 

Clayton Clark

Clayton is the co-founder of Big Rush Marketing located in Kirkwood. Before his career in marketing, Clayton spent 7 years as a television journalist. He was an anchor/reporter in Minot, ND for a year before moving to Fresno, CA to work on the Great Day morning show on KMPH-TV for 6 years. Clayton was named one of the top 40 business professional under 40 in Fresno and received an Emmy nomination for work with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

In Fresno, Clayton spent his spare time teaching tennis at a local country club and non-profit organization called Break The Barriers Inc. He coached a wheelchair tennis team and worked with a program giving at-risk youth a chance to learn the sport. His work at Break The Barriers fostered a passion for working with kids of all ability levels.

After the birth of his daughter in 2014, Clayton and his wife moved back to St. Louis to be closer to family. Shortly after that, Clayton partnered with a co-worker to launch Big Rush Marketing working with a variety of small and medium size businesses.

Clayton’s hobbies include exercise, family bike rides on Grant’s Trail and taste testing new restaurants in St. Louis. He is married to Courtney and they have one daughter, Cali.
